

Anne Moroney Youth Services’ September 2006 Employees of the Month

Shelly Green and Brandy Simpson have been chosen as Anne Moroney Youth Services’ September 2006 Employees of the Month. Shelly and Brandy are the cornerstones of our Okemah office, located at 219 West Broadway. Shelly has been with the agency over seven years and Brandy over two years. Both Shelly and Brandy provide services in multiple agency programs. Shelly is a School Based Outreach Coordinator and provides the Character Counts! and PATHS curriculum to students in Okfuskee and Okmulgee counties. Both of these curriculums encourage elementary aged students to improve their problem-solving skills. She is a certified AIDS/HIV and First Aid/CPR instructor. Shelly also coordinates events such as the 8th grade Spring Tea and Boys Bash in Okfuskee County.
Brandy is a therapist, 1 Eighty and Outreach coordinator all in one. Brandy
is one test short of having completed all the requirements necessary to
be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Brandy provides counseling to youth
and families in Okfuskee County. She is the LifeSkills Training coordinator
in Okfuskee County. LifeSkills Training is a substance abuse prevention
curriculum. Brandy also conducts 1 Eighty classes in Okfuskee and Okmulgee
Counties. The 1 Eighty class encourages youth and parent participation
in areas such as anger management, communication, decision-making and responsibility.
