Anne Moroney Youth Services’ February 2007 Employee of the Month

Andrea Roland has been chosen as Anne Moroney Youth Services' February 2007 Employee of the Month. Andrea is the 1 Eighty, Outreach and Friday Night Detention Coordinator for Okmulgee County. Andrea completed her Bachelor of Social Work from Northeastern State University. She has been with the agency since April 2006.

Andrea works closely with Beggs, Dewar, Henryetta, Morris and Okmulgee Municipal Courts as well as several of the county schools. Andrea coordinates and teaches the 1 Eighty Program in Okmulgee County. The 1 Eighty class encourages youth and parent participation in areas such as anger management, communication, decision-making and responsibility. She is one of the Outreach Coordinators in Okmulgee County and teaches the LifeSkills Training curriculum to 6th, 7th and 8th graders. LifeSkills Training is a substance abuse prevention curriculum. In addition, Andrea coordinates referrals for the Friday Night Detention Program. The Friday Night Detention Program is a behavior modification program that is conducted on the first Friday night of each month at the Henryetta Civic Center. This program promotes youth to reevaluate prior decisions while encouraging them to make positive choices in the future.
